And because the problems and obstacles created from your past emotional, psychological and physical trauma are unique to you, I offer a range of trauma therapies to help you and other victims and survivors get relief and recover from the consequences and effects of your unique past emotional, psychological and physical trauma.
I have used this approach with creativity, compassion and curiosity to help hundreds of people overcome problems and obstacles created by trauma over the last 25 years. I’ve carefully chosen just eighteen out of those hundreds of examples from my trauma therapy work on my CV over the last twenty-five years to highlight and showcases my creativity, curiosity and compassion. The therapies I offer
- TFCBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy)
- TFACT (trauma-focused acceptance and commitment therapy)
- NLP (neuro-linguistic programming)
- Hypnotherapy
- Havening®
- HeartMath®
Which one of these therapies separately, or in combination with one or more others, is right for you to resolve, get relief and recover from your past emotional, psychological and physical trauma depends on your choice and your unique circumstances, not on my preference. Working that out is what the free confidential 30-minute telephone consultation is for.
And that’s the purpose of discussing the 3 questions below. Because whilst your past trauma has ended it's unwanted effects continue. And that's the reason why your post-trauma world is different than before you experienced the trauma. And why you are different from before.
You can experience an array of different physical, emotional and psychological unwanted negative effects from a past trauma. And that's the purpose of me asking you the question: "Have you always had this problem and, if not, when did you first experience it?" It can take time for us to put together the root cause of your problem that you don't want. The root cause can be anything from the briefest of moments, where for a few seconds you were startled by something scary or you were frightened that you might lose something of value, or that you were abandoned and felt totally alone, or that you were in a situation that was somehow inescapable. The root cause can also be a series of traumatic events or a single prolonged traumatic experience.
Some traumatic events are hard-wired at birth to automatically produce specific effects. For example, the automatic and unconscious physiological arousal in response to a threatening circumstance such as: Abandonment, Being killed, Heights, Suffocation, Novel situations, Being Trapped, Open spaces with no place to hide, Ground-based predators, Creepy crawly things, Air-based predators and things out of visual field, Culture-based threats such as loss of reputation, Inability to be a provider and so on.
And so because we need to identify the root cause in order for us to resolve it and for you to get relief and recover from it, we take our time to do this with curiosity, compassion and creativity. So that you can move on with your life unaffected by the unwanted effects and problems caused by the past trauma.
